train rides and long walks
Pink flannel top, keffiyeh.. Its refreshing to see a play in pattern and colors in winter among the sea of monotones.
Loose hoodie, long shorts worn over tights, hi-tops......coolness
hat, scarf, zip-up biker jacket, tights?!pants?? (something in between, its made from super stretchy material but it has a zipper in the crotch), studded boots, wayfarer-ish frame, all in black except for the ms. marc jacobs printed tote (this added humor to the whole look)

just an expression of love...
t- shirt addicts...

A love of fashion and a passion for designer goods is a major influence in today's youth culture, but these riches comes at a price. The result is a creative backlash in the form of taking iconic logos of top fashion houses and creating hip designs by manipulating, reworking and reinventing it.
wearing one of these tees is like a witty commentary on luxury brands.
(all i want for Christmas is just one or all these babies.. friends, my siblings you heard me right...)

The joke is on who?.....the faint hearted
It was the Oscars of 2001, when Bjork got the attention of many when she came to the affair in her iconic swan dress. That was a night of rebellion against Hollywood glamour. Among the sea of haute couture gowns walked this fowl inspired dress. The guy responsible for this is Marjan Pejoski. Some thought that Pejoski would remain a fashion joke after that incident, but the avant -garde set were more impressed than outraged. He got the New Generation Award by the British Fashion Council for two consecutive years, did London Fashion weeks, before moving his shows to Paris. He is now a big name in the non-conformist fashion market, especially in Japan where he also designs under the Tokyo–based brand DressCamp.
the swan...
and guess who's wearing Pejoski now?

Goodnight and Goodluck!
I was reading an article of Suzy Menkes about Martin Margiela leaving the fashion house that he built.
Margiela kept his identity from the public eye. He refused to have his pictures taken and remained backstage during fashion shows. All media interviews are done via fax or e-mail.
Giovanni Pungetti, chief executive of Maison Martin Margiela, said that the fashion house would continue to operate with the creative staff that its reclusive founder had developed over 20 years but that there would be no new appointment of a creative director.
Margiela's brand was acquired by the Diesel brand in 2002 and industry insiders quoted in the article suggested that Martin Margiela may desire to leave due to creative differences, or simply, "... a desire to enjoy his life outside the insistent glare of the fashion world." I admire Mr. Margiela for leaving the brand. If his vision is no longer realized and still stayed for business sake the whole point of the brand being discreet, eccentric and groundbreaking will be lost.
The exciting part of the whole picture is if the 28 member creative team could function without a creative director. If the answer is yes, then the departure of Mr. Margiela, whose personal image has so rarely been seen, may leave a lasting imprint on the business. This may change the hierarchy in fashion houses, a collective to handle a brand...sounds exciting! (a very contemporary approach in design).
Mr. Margiela what's next? rumors said you wanted to paint.
may i quote CHUVANESS (http://chuvaness.livejournal.com/?skip=10)
"He may have sold out, but in the end he still refused to sell out."
in his honor....
my halloween costume wahahaha! (inspired by his 20th anniversary collection..slight)
let us wear our incognitos as we mourn....

teens and t-shirts......
I'm a t-shirt person, and even during winter i really like wearing a graphic shirt under a knit sweater. Just the thought of wearing something nice underneath excites me. Of course, if your invited by a friend for dinner or you go in a club and you have to remove your jacket, then the B-awwtiful surprise is revealed. Hong Kong being one of those cities that have a weird winter (can be really cold during early mornings and at night but in the afternoon it feels like spring) wearing a t-shirt on winter is not really a weird practice.
Speaking of shirts I'm liking this...

Comme Des Garcons -Under the Ground Store Opening
Ai Wei Wei x COMME des GARCONS Hong Kong Re-Opening T-shirt
COMME des GARÇONS Hong Kong Store
Under the Ground moves relocated from On Lan Street to Ice House Street
These are pictures from the opening of the newly renovated Hong Kong store . It has been transformed not just into a contemporary clothing store but into a hideaway from the banalities of the modern life: A sanctuary of creation fashion. It does not serve just to be a space for retail but also a place for to showcase contemporary art. Ai Wei Wei's (Chinese contemporary artist) "Watermelons" was part of this gala.
photos: check out nick's 3 tongue jeremy scott's for adidas, the girl in her Balmainiesque dress and fuchsia pink shoes-zzzz, wyman, the cdg hats... the old world-printed blazers, doll shoes for boys, the silhouette of the jackets... drool!!

What does Hong Kong Wear?
Spending one year and ten months in this dynamic city made me think of what to do besides dancing. Having interest in fashion which lead me to studying the art form of making clothes. I worked for a local retail label in the Philippines while dancing on the side (dancing alone will not feed you in the 3rd world), there is no other way I can think of to continue a career in fashion at this point besides observing how people dress and analyzing what affects the way people dress.
As a young boy I experimented in dressing by cutting old curtains, and school uniforms and some of my parents clothes. I glue them or sew them together to create weird pieces of clothing. I went through my over size phase....extra large shirts and pants sweeping the floor...I can throw up just thinking of it... I thought it was cool to wear something that 3 people can fit in, yikes!!! My exposure to fashion was limited in what my aunts and uncles wear in family gatherings, what celebrities put on and me being a groupie I wanted to have what they wear to be cool, CK, Lacoste, Armani. Guess...oh yes mainstream ladies and gentlemen!
Thank you to another love, Dance!!! (contemporary dance) It opened my mind on the limitless possibilities of the body and how to stay away from the norms....to be forward in terms of movement and the philosophy behind it per se. Dance lead me to go to places I've never been to Japan, rural villages in China, Europe. I was amazed on how people look so different not just their physicality but also their aesthetic in dressing. I begin to question what i wear and my undying love on the art form of dressing stemmed from there. Thanks to the world wide web, ukay-ukay(flea markets), sub cultures, new music, contemporary art...you are the saving graces of Fashzyen!!!!
And yes, there is no better place to start this blog but in the shopping capital of Asia ( is it still?) Hong kong!!!!!! Join me as I try to to identify. who wears hk? and what does hk wear?
